HOW TO MAKE PRACTICE WEAVES

ITEMS NEEDED:

2 - 10' PVC 3/4" Schedule 40

2 - 10' PVC 3/4" Schedule 200

6 - T's 3/4" X 3/4" X 1/2" (the 1/2" is treaded)

2 - T's 3/4" X 3/4" X 3/4" (all smooth)

6 - 6" risers (threads located on ends only!)

4 - 3/4" end caps (smooth inside)

Small box of #6x3/4" Wood Screws (flat/phillips head)

  1. Cut five sections of Schedule 40 in 22" lengths. Connect them using the six T's with the 1/2" threaded top. Make sure the T's are lined up properly. I usually lay the work in progress on a cement slab and make sure all T's are touching the cement. At this point, I secure the T's with a wood screw to prevent it from getting out of position.

  2. Cut two 2" sections of Schedule 40 and four 18" sections of Schedule 40. This will be used to make the supports or legs. Attach the 18" pieces to the two 3/4"x3/4"x3/4" (all smooth) "T's" and add the caps to the ends. Place the 2" piece in the "T" and add it to the pole section you just finished.

  3. Using the Schedule 200, cut six sections...
    40" for tall dogs
    24" for small dogs

  4. Add the risers to the threaded T's. The Schedule 200 sections should fit nicely over the risers. Make sure you have secured each piece with a wood screw to prevent the pieces from moving. (The exception: the risers and Schedule 200 pieces.) This also makes it easy to replace a piece that breaks. The poles will have a 20" distance from center of pole to center of pole.

You can purchase plastic tape in different colors and decorate your poles. This whole process should take around 1/2 hour to make once you have all the parts.
